Just in case an "online interactive website" is difficult for you

Michael Grimes retweeted a link to the North Wales Pioneer today, who are reporting on social media policies at Conwy Council. The way the article discusses blogging (or "internet blogging" as they would say) suggests the newspaper or its readers are not all that comfortable with the Internet. Perhaps this is why they have included a "presenter" that explains their online presence to the wary web surfer. Quite the kitschest thing I have seen for a while. Not sure it will catch on.
In case it's experimental and they pull it before you read this, here's a video capture:

I like the idea but, and this is a big but, if you're not that web savvy, might it be more likely you'd have a low bandwidth connection, and no cope that well with the video? Maybe

I just watched it in in place on the web site and it's kind of odd, seems weird they need it at all. It suggests 'our web site is not very clear or usable, so you'll need a hand getting round it'

It does rather. A friend of mine used to make sell and produce these piece to camera presentations for websites for a specialist production company. He has a better job now in a much better agency. I'm not sure how well his old workmates are doing; I gather that it was a hard one to sell.

I found that really bizarre. What struck me was how Not Welsh she sounded for a local North Wales website!
